State Life Insurance is also known by the full name of the state life insurance Corporation of Pakistan, and has been the largest life insurance corporation in Pakistan since 1972. State Life Insurance is a well established company, with a network of over 90,000 sales people and 4.167 employees. State Life Insurance was established in March 1972, when a number of individual life insurance companies joined together under the one banner.
The major service provided by State Life is the provision of life insurance services, although it is also involved in other financial and business activities.
State Life is headed by a chairman, and Shahid Aziz Siddiqi holds the office presently. The organisational structure includes a board of directors, executive directors, divisional heads, regions, and individual zones. It is a huge operation that is involved in the provision of a massive amount of life insurance polices, with 3,312,893 individual life insurance contracts in force in 2010.
While State Life insurance is based in the headquarters of Karachi, Pakistan, the company also does business all over the world. However, there is a vast network of offices throughout Pakistan, including 461 area offices all around the country that offer individual life insurance products to customers. Along with these area office locations, there are also a number of zonal offices, regional offices, and a principle office that is involved in corporate finance, real estate, and a number of overseas and international operations. Other than Pakistan, some of the other countries of operation for State Life include the Gulf countries of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
